Ar brynhawn sych a braf, tir caled a gêm gynghrair olaf Nant gartref, roedd Nant mewn rheolaeth drwy’r hanner cyntaf ac yn neg munud olaf y gêm. Roedd Nant yn gwrth ymosod yn glinigol a sgoriwyd pedwar cais cyn yr hanner gan y cefnwyr. Grant ar ôl 12 munud, a’r tramorwr Simonie bedwar munud wedyn yn dangos ei gryfder trwy daflu pedair ymdrech i’w daclo i ffwrdd., Ifan wedyn chwarter ffordd drwodd o dan y pyst gydag Osian yn gweld ei gyfle i gael y pedwerydd funud cyn yr egwyl trwy dorri o fôn y sgrym. Bu i Llywarch drosi y tri chais olaf. Sgôr o 26 - 0 ar yr hanner gyda’r pwynt bonws wedi’i ennill.
Daeth Dinbych fwy i’r gêm am 20 munud cyntaf yr ail hanner ac, yn wir sgoriodd Dion Howatson gais haeddiannol iddynt ar ôl 6 munud a’i drosi hefyd. Ni fu unrhyw sgôr wedyn serch fod Nant wedi gorwedd ar eu rhwyfau braidd yn y gwres llethol tan y 10 munud olaf. Yn y cyfnod olaf hwnnw, dangosodd bechgyn Nant eu ffitrwydd trwy sgorio pedwar cais arall gan dorri’n rhwydd erbyn hyn trwy amddiffyn Dinbych. Gareth yn rhuthro drwodd am ddau o’r ceisiau, grant yn rhuthro o’i hanner ei hun i sgorio o dan y pyst a Llywarch yn sgorio cais o dan y pyst gyda munud ar ôl.. Eto, trosodd dri o’r ceisiau hyn gyda chiciau adlam erbyn hyn i arbed amser.
Sgôr derfynol o 52 - 7 felly. Bydd gêm olaf Nant yn y gynghrair i ffwrdd yn Rhuthun ar yr 8fed Mai 2010.
On a dry and beautiful afternoon, a hard surface and Nant’s last home league match of the seasion, Nant were in control throughout the first half and then the last ten minutes of the match. Nant counter attacked clinically at times with the backs scoring four tries before the interval with Llywarch converting three. Grant was the first to touch down after 12 minutes followed by Simionie (Jim) four minutes later. Ifan a quarter way through the match with Osian braking from the base of the scrum a minute before the break to gain the bonus point for the team. A score of 26 – 0 on the whistle.
Nant relaxed a bit during the second half on the hard surface and in the hot weather. Denbigh scored a deserved try through their no.12, Dion Howatson after 7 minutes – a try that he then duly converted. Nant re discovered their clinical edge in the last 10 minutes and ran in four further tries with Llywarch converting three of them in a drop goal fashion to save time.. Gareth broke through a tiring defence twice to score under the posts and Grant ran in for a try having started his run well in his own half. Llywarch completed the scoring with a converted try with a minute left.
A final score of 52 – 7 then. Nant’s final league match of the season will be away to Ruthin on Saturday, 8th May 2010.
