NEXT April, four junior rugby teams chosen from across Wales will join Ryan Jones and a team of international coaches and players at the National Centre of Excellence to take part in a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience.SWALEC is inviting all supporters – family members, friends, schools, clubs and any other sources – to nominate their junior sides and give their youngsters the chance to win an elite rugby experience as part of the ‘Swalec Junior Stars’ competition.
Wales captain Ryan Jones said: “This is a great opportunity to showcase and recognise the teams who are really contributing to their club, school or community, and help them gain some valuable experience.”
Four teams – in the under-13, U14 or U15 age category, either boys or girls – will be selected to take part in the training session at the National Centre of Excellence, the Vale Resort, where they will have an action-packed day learning from the best in Wales.
Each team will enjoy a VIP experience, including lunch with the players and a WRU goody bag.
Nominations should include 50 words on why specific teams are ‘junior stars’. There are no formal criteria but suggestions for nominations include team participation, individual acceptance or community involvement.
All nominations are to be mailed to SWALEC Junior Stars Competition, Millennium Stadium, Westgate Street, Cardiff, CF10 1NS or email: juniorstars@swalec.co.uk by Friday, December 18.
